The 16th annual Crazy Fest Amateur Youth Talent Show took place on Sunday, April 30 at the Greenwood Firehall. Q94 was again proud to be a supporter and sponsor of this fun event.
Hosted by local entertainer and balloon art man Dennie Huber, Crazy Fest allowed young aspiring entertainers 21 and under to strut their stuff and demonstrate their talents in front of a friendly, supportive audience (no American Idol Simon Cowell putdowns here!), as they performed and competed for trophies, plaques, awards and recognition. As happens every year, the talent level this year's crop of youngsters brought forth was amazing! Hopefully Crazy Fest was the first step in many of these youngsters further pursuing and exploring their talents, and becoming the marquee entertainers of tomorrow.
When the winners were announced at day's end, the top finishers were: Sarah Donley (ages 7-8), Lauren Donley (ages 9-10), Eva Henry (ages 11-13), Mara Murphy (age 14), Devon Ingold (age 15) Ross Perduzzi (age 16-18) and Luke Henry (age 19-21). The 8-piece band Plural Nouns from Keith Junior High School won Amateur Band top honors and the Crazy Fest Fan Favorite trophy, while sisters Devon, Kelsie and Karlie Ingold won top duo/group honors. The Crazy Fest Future Star top honors went to Karlie Ingold (age 12 and under) and Ross Perduzzi (13 and older). Several Crazy Fest alumni were given awards, including Angela Dodson and Kaitlin Marie Baker (Outstanding Achievement) and Mallory J. Keith (Hall Of Fame).
Hats off again to all the youngsters who shared their talents with us, as well as their families and friends; the judges, the sound and production crew, the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company for providing the venue, food and refreshments, all the sponsors, all those who attended and supported Crazy Fest, and of course, the man who puts this together every year, Dennie Huber, for giving area youth the chance to demonstrate their talents!
