Okay...I love football....but I'm not sure how I'll do in my picks...
I haven't been pouring over stats and all the sports pages...so this is just a quick pick 'em. Can I beat Coco the monkey?
College:
Pitt. over Mich. State
Notre Dame over Michigan
Miami over Louisville
LSU over Auburn
Tenn. over Florida
NFL:
Ravens over Raiders
Chiefs over Broncos
Giants over Eagles
Cowboys over Redskins
Jags over Steelers
There are a few great matchups...in college:
Mich/Notre Dame should be a good game and be within 7 points. I don't think either team will run away with it.
While Louisville looked impressive last week...Miami may just blow into town and blow a few feathers off. (then again...they just blew away Temple....great school for Basketball....football?)
Sorry Krystale! (my niece who's a frosh there this year)
I'm looking for LSU to play tough with Auburn...always a great rivalry. This game should be within 8 points.
You're probably wondering why I chose Pitt. May surprise a few people this year...but ya never know.
In the NFL:
When you have great rivalries on the field...it can tend to be a wild game!
Giants and Eagles always play each other hard. This year the Eagles have an advantage by not having the T.O. nonsense bringing a cloud over the entire team's performance. McNabb looked very comfortable last week and will have a good game, but I think Manning is still stinging from his loss to bigger brother, and will come out with all guns blazing.
Cowboys/Redskins.....some match ups have been a complete blowout.....and others...the final is within 7 points. I think Tuna has his boys ready...regardless of T.O.....and the Skins need some work.
Steelers/Jags...I know I'm gonna get some guff on picking the Jags....but since they've come into the NFL...they've always given the black n gold a hard time. I'd say final score will be within 6.
Okay...that's my un-informed picks. Thoughts? Comments?
Can I "Shock the Monkey?"
We'll just have to watch and see!
Oh yeah! Thanks to the folks at City Beverage for sponsoring the Miller Lite Friday Football Forecast....every Friday at 8:45am....with my man Adam, the Altoona Mirror's Neil Rudel and of course....Coco the Monkey. (At least I don't have to change his diapers!) ;D
Keep rockin'!
