The prize all this week on the 4:10 PM "Classic Rock Clip" contest is a WWE John Cena "Live Fast Fight Hard" T-shirt. Today's correct answer was Foreigner's "Blue Morning, Blue Day."
This afternoon's 5:15 PM "Lost Classic" from the archives was "I Wanna Go to the Sun" by Peter Frampton, from his ever-legendary 1976 double-live album Frampton Comes Alive, which was first released on this date in 1976. Just three months after its release, Frampton Comes Alive had already achieved platinum status (meaning it sold over a million copies).
Okay, time for some griping...Last evening, I was doing some shopping for food and supplies, and stopped off at a local supermarket in Altoona. I pulled into the lot, in front of the store window. Parked two spaces down from me was a white sedan, with one of those leviathan sound systems BLASTING out rap music at an EXTREMELY loud volume - loud enough that the car itself was rattling! There was nobody in the car; and the windows of the car were rolled a third of the way down. The occupants were apparently shopping in the store, and wanted to hear their rap music while they were grocery shopping. This music was playing so loud that you could hear it in THE REAR OF THE STORE! I pitied the poor lady working at the checkout in the front of the store, she could barely carry on a conversation with customers because of the noise! As I was checking out with my purchase, the car occupants - who appeared to be a 20-something-aged guy and gal - were loading their stuff into the car.
Obviously, I wonder why the heck they had to crank the volume so high when they were going into the store to shop - did they think the rest of the world wanted to hear their music as well? I also wonder if these folks might have been hard of hearing, especially if they listen to music that loud while they're inside the car? And had I been the lady working the checkout or the store manager (who may not have been present, it was evening), I probably would have either told the couple to turn their car system down, or reported the loud volume to the police. It was insanely loud, and probably could have been heard for several blocks away.
Hey, I like my music, too...But I realize the rest of the world probably doesn't want to hear it, especially cranked up at maximum volume out of my car stereo, so loud that the car itself is vibrating! You have to wonder if these folks were ever taught to respect other people around them by their parents.
Hey, we at Q94 tell you to crank us up...But darn, not so loud that you can hear us on your car radio IN THE REAR OF A SUPERMARKET! Geeeeeeeeezzzzz!!!!!
