It's been a while since I did one of these daily writs, so here ya go...
It's "Pot Luck" CD week on the daily 4:10 PM "Classic Rock Clip" contest. We started with five CD's yesterday (Monday), and have already given away CD's from Bob Seger and Joe Satriani. Remaining are discs from Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger and the compilation Mullets Rock Too. In addition, all CD winners' names get entered into a national drawing to possibly score a cruise to Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo. Today's correct answer was "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey.
The 5:15 PM "Lost Classic" this afternoon was "Head First" by the Babys. Before his current keyboard stint in Journey, Jonathan Cain was the keyboardist in The Babys. He celebrates his 58th birthday today.
Big trade by the Penguins right before the trade deadline, as the Pens obtained Marian Hossa from the Atlanta Thrashers for prospect Angelo Esposito, forwards Colby Armstrong and Erik Christiansen and a first-round pick. Hopefully the trade is enough to push the Pens over the hump in the playoffs and earn them Lord Stanley's cup. But with what they gave up for Hossa, I hope it doesn't sacrifice part of their future in the process.
Are you sick of the winter weather yet? I was sick of it when the first snow flakes fell back in December (or November? Whatever...). So now, I've reached that apathetic numbness whenever the forecast calls for accumulating snow or ice. So I'll just brush it or chip it off of the car and drive slower, and hope the rest of the folks on the highway stay in control of their vehicles. Just a few more weeks...Once we hit St. Patrick's Day, the light at the end of the tunnel will become brighter.
Tis all for now, I guess. And remember JP's morsel of wisdom for the day...Punctuality is overrated.
