Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the April 8 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.
The show took a theatrical turn this week with our guests, State College-based ensemble theatre group Mad Muse Productions (www.myspace.com/madmuseproductions). Mad Muse is presenting Hedwig and the Angry Inch at The Brewery in State College on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights, April 15, 16 and 17, at 10 PM. We spoke with company mastermind Lori Howsare, director Bret Sarlouis, and various cast members and musicians involved with Hedwig. We gained an overview of Hedwig, as well as thoughts and insight about the characters, music, and more. We heard Mad Muse Productions renditions of “The Time Warp” from last fall’s production of The Rocky Horror Show, and “Tear Me Down” from the upcoming Hedwig production. And we also heard songs from band projects featuring the Mad Muse Hedwig musicians; Uncle Travelling Matt, 69 Leaf Clover and Newbyboys. We also updated Local Music News, and debuted new songs from Milkshake Jones, Worse For Wear and Lowjack. And we even played a tune from Cleveland-based Megaforce recording group Mushroomhead, who nearly tore the roof off of City Limits in Altoona the night before. Wow, what a busy show!
Here is this week’s playlist:
