In Local Music News.
Lots of band personnel moves to report…The remaining three members of Third Standard have merged with another Indiana-based band, forming the project Slow Joe Crowe. Guitarist Joe Scott, bass player Andy Heinze and drummer Manny Barbezzini have joined up with singer/guitarist Bailey Allen and lead guitarist Jay Moreau.
Billy & the Inmates have slimmed their roster and their name, following the departure of drummer and band namesake Bill Stauffer, who left the band due to career reasons. Rhythm guitarist Jerry Carnevali's son, Jared Carnevali, who has filled in on drums with the group on prior occasions, takes over as the new drummer; and the group has shortened their name to simply The Inmates.
State College Americana rock group The Rustlanders have slimmed to a four-piece with the departure of guitarist Dave Mudgett, who left the group due to their increased travel schedule. The departure was a friendly one, and Dave still sits in with the group during local State College shows. The Rustlanders plan to enter the studio to begin recording their debut CD in early fall.
Former No Dice frontman Jimmy Skinny has taken over singing duties with the band Signal Lost.
The Harrisburg-based band The April Skies have parted ways with drummer Mark Tritico. A new drummer is being sought.
The band 1 Way, featuring former members of The Rudys, is seeking a new lead singer. Interested singers may inquire by visiting the group’s website, www.1way4rock.com.
And the “Backyard Rocker” sends out sincere get well wishes to two area musicians who are undergoing medical procedures. Opposition singer Mike “Iceman” Bryant and Jeff Renner, better known as solo performer “Lone Wolf,” are or will be logging hospital time in the next few weeks for separate medical matters. We wish both musicians speedy recoveries.
