Good news from the West Coast regarding the former lead singer of Juiced…Carrie Rapaport reports that her current band, Cakecutter, will not only have music playing in the upcoming Paramount movie release Jackass: Number Two, but they also scored a track on the movie soundtrack CD as well. In addition, Carrie and Cakecutter will have music in the upcoming MTV show Rob and Big Black, as well as Steve-O's new reality show as well. The group’s producer, Geza-X (Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Meredith Brooks, Germs, Tyler Hilton), is currently mixing Cakecutter’s first full-length CD, Buck Naked, Live Free, and the group hopes to have the CD printed and released in mid-September.
A further update regarding the band formerly known as Billy & the Inmates…We recently reported that after Jared Carnevali took over drum duties in the band, that the group had shortened their name to The Inmates. The group now reports that they have changed their name completely, to Night Train.
And a new band to look out for in the months ahead is Sonic 13, featuring former members of Plazma and Xpendable. Joining former Plazma guitarist Travis Dunn and former Xpendable bassist Jason Herbert are singer Justin Means and drummer Tim Lester. The group is currently working on covers and original songs, and expects to hit area stages soon.
