A sure sign that spring is almost here is the announcement of this year’s “Crazy Fest”…The 17th annual "Crazy Fest" Amateur Youth Talent Show will take place on Sunday, April 29th starting at 1 PM at the Greenwood Fire Hall in Altoona. Organized and hosted by Dennie Huber, "Crazy Fest" is an amateur talent show and competition open to youth ages 21 and younger. Youngsters can enter and showcase their talents in front of a supportive audience, to win trophies, awards, plaques and other prizes. "Crazy Fest" is open to any and all talents: singing, playing instruments, amateur bands, dancing, poetry and more. There is no fee to enter "Crazy Fest" as a contestant. For an application to compete, call Dennie Huber at (814) 942-2516. Admission at the door for the general public is $2 per person. Food and refreshments will be provided, with food proceeds benefiting the Greenwood Fire Company. Proceeds from the door will fund the costs of the trophies and awards presented to the winners. "Crazy Fest" is co-sponsored by Q94 and Pennsylvania Musician Magazine.
Lewistown’s Wiskerbisket has found their new singer and bass player. Joel DiPietro takes over lead vocal duties, replacing Doug Snook. Jeffrey Fripp takes over bass duties from Milhouse, who left Wiskerbisket to join the Amy K Band.
Harrisburg’s Disingaged has changed their name. Their new handle is Drop Of Grey.
The next edition of The Gathering Coffeehouse will be taking place this coming Friday evening at Calvary Baptist Church, on Ruskin Drive in Altoona. The Coffeehouse begins at 7 PM, and will feature music by The Red Letter Band. Admission is free.
