In Local Music News…
Some band personnel moves to report. Bassist Big Jim Ricotta has parted ways with local classic rockers The Red Arrow, citing musical differences. Guitarist Jimmy Smith has since joined The Red Arrow, and the group is working with several bass players at the moment until a permanent one is announced.
Local lady rockers Kitty Whip have found their new drummer. Christi Roddy, formerly from the band Never Enough, takes over the drum position, making Kitty Whip a total all-girl line-up.
The former Fayted rhythm section of bassist Larry Bishop and drummer Zac Grace have teamed up with former Insult to Injury guitarist Scott Diehl and Under One singer and guitarists Dustin Reisling and Brad Barnes to form a new band. The group is currently considering options for a name.
And speaking of names, local melody punk rockers Signal Lost have changed their handle to…Lose the Name.
Dubois-based heavy rockers Sever have finished recording their new EP. The group recorded the EP, called Amidst the Ashes, this past week at Spider Studios in Cleveland. The EP will be released shortly.
And the show must go on, even if your drummer can only use one arm…Johnstown area rock trio The Chi performed their show this past Saturday night at Dively’s Tavern in Johnstown, despite drummer/singer Dave Distefano only having use of his right arm due to carpal tunnel issues in his left arm. Dave drummed the whole show, using one arm.
