Although rains dampened the bike ride, they didn't dampen the spirits at the Coal Car Saloon on Sunday, June 4 as the Q94 Harley Street Bob World Tour pulled into town. The Q94 Live Harley Broadcast was part of the post-party festivities following the benefit motorcycle run for 12-year-old Brett Doughty. Brett has Stargardt's Disease, which causes a macular degeneration of the retina and eventual blindness. Proceeds from the motorcycle run and post-party will help Brett and his family with medical expenses as he travels to Connecticut for medical procedures to reverse or halt the advance of his condition. As the Q94 Harley Broadcast proceeded, the excitement grew at the Coal Car Saloon as riders began arriving, and anticipation grew for the arrival of the man himself, Brett Doughty! The Ashville Volunteer Fire Department provided an escort for Brett and the final riders arriving, with Brett himself arriving in the front cab of a fire engine! As the remote concluded, awards were made to several ride participants and to the owners of the Coal Car Saloon for their help. Music was provided after the remote by the band Hi-Tyde.
