Friday night, June 15 - the eve before Q94's 2007 Harley-Davidson Giveaway had arrived - and only a few limited slots were left to fill the grid of 947 qualifying Harley hopefuls with a shot at winning the Harley Road King. It came down to one last Harley remote broadcast, at the traditional site for the last one every year, Roberts Beverages in Altoona.
It was all the craziness that we have come to expect from this last Harley broadcast...People who had not qualified yet, gripping because this was their last chance to punch their ticket to the big drawing. One lady drove into the Roberts parking lot going the wrong way on one-way Pleasant Valley Boulevard! The excitement and angst crested as a few hopefuls finally got through and qualified (including one listener who had never qualified in ten years of trying, and a husband and wife who both became first time qualifiers on the final night). But at least one shred of hope was announced to those who hadn't qualified at the end of this remote; ten final names from those folks who had not qualified yet this year would be drawn the following morning at Burgi's Back Nine prior to the Harley Giveaway.
