On Saturday, June 16, after two months of hot and heavy on-air qualifying, sponsor drawings and live remote broadcasts to accumulate 947 qualifiers, the day of decision had arrived! Q94 presented the tenth annual Harley-Davidson Giveaway at Burgi's Back Nine in Greenwood. It was another unforgettable day of fun and excitement. After the Tony Mollick Project warmed the huge crowd of qualifiers and onlookers with smoking classic and blues rock, the process of determining the Harley Davidson Road King winner began. The barrel containing the qualifying cards was brought onto the stage. First, fifty semi-finalist cards were drawn from the barrel. Those fifty semi-finalists were returned to the barrel, and then ten finalists were drawn. Those ten names re-entered the barrel, and then one by one, those cards were drawn from the barrel. The last card left in the barrel belonged to Mike Friedenberger of Altoona - THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF A FIREFIGHTER RED HARLEY-DAVIDSON ROAD KING!!!!!
(It was pointed out to me by an attentive listener that the Harley wasn't "firefighter red;" but rather, fire ENGINE red. Our bad...But I did tell the listener, it could be firefighter red, if the firefighter got angry or stepped too close to the fire! ;D)
Anyway, here is the photographic depiction of the day's festivities...enjoy!
