All this week on the 4:10 PM "Classic Rock Clip" contest, the prize is four tickets to attend an Altoona Curve game this weekend at Blair County Ballpark, as the Curve faces Trenton. Today's correct answer was "Love Stinks" by the J. Geils Band.
Today's 5:15 PM "Lost Classic" from the back of the rack was "Party on the Patio" by ZZ Top, from their 1981 album El Loco. Today is bassist Dusty Hill's 58th birthday.
My apologies for the lack of blogs of late. JP is a very, very busy person these days. Lots of things to do, and lots of things to write, so blogging minutes do not come easily. So while I have a few moments to jot a few things down, a few random thoughts...
Go Pens!
Go Pirates! I don't think the Bucs are as bad as the media makes them out to be, and they have been playing well the past week or so. I'm hoping as they develop more consistency and chemistry on the field, they can at least hover around .500 and get the monkey off their back for consecutive losing seasons.
I haven't been to an Altoona Curve game yet this year. That will change shortly.
JP's Garden Update: I wish I had something to update! Progress has been slow in getting JP's Victory Garden '08 off the ground...err...IN the ground, due to all this wet weather! All that's in thus far is onions, radishes, turnips and garlic. My first attempted lettuce planting didn't sprout (I was using last year's seeds). Fingers are crossed that the rain takes a break for a few days so the ground dries enough to plant some seeds... If that is the case for this coming holiday weekend, I'll be spending time in between a few Memorial Day weekend picnics getting my hands dirty in topsoil!
