On Saturday, June 14, for the 11th year in a row, Q94 gave away another Harley Davidson motorcycle, a softtail deluxe! The Harley giveaway happened at Altoona's Railroaders Museum. Congratulations to the winner, Bill McDowell of Altoona, whose name was the last one left in the barrel!
Fortunately, the rains pretty much held off, with only a few light showers during the course of the giveaway. Thanks to our musical guests, "Toolbox & the Fossils," a special one-time collaboration featuring members from Flight 19 and Half Tempted. They warmed up the crowd with some great classic rock, and even a surprise rendition of a local music classic, The Front's "Girl Like You" (the Toolbox collaboration featured former Front members John McKelvey on guitar and Clint Carothers on drums). The music inspired some wild dancing by Q94 listener and wildman "Wolfie!" Check out some video footage of "Wolfie's" moves:

Soon, the giveaway itself began. First, five final qualifiers' names were drawn (folks who hadn't yet qualified were invited to register), and those names completed the final field of 943 qualifying entries. Then, with those 943 entries placed in the spinning barrel, 50 semifinalists' names were drawn. Those 50 names were then placed back into the barrel, and 10 finalists' names were drawn. Those ten names were replaced into the barrel, and one by one, the finalists were whittled down to two remaining finalists: Rita Imler of East Freedom, and Bill McDowell of Altoona. One more card was drawn as the runner-up; that name was Rita's...leaving Bill's card as the last in the barrel, and Bill was the Harley winner!
Thanks to everybody who came out to the Harley remotes and this day's drawing. Also thanks to "Toolbox & the Fossils," and soundman Tom Seidel for providing the sound system. Thanks to the Railroaders Memorial Museum, presenting the "Alive @ Five" Summer Concert Series on select Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Thanks to all of our sponsors, including Best Way Pizza in Greenwood; Zepka Harley-Davidson in Johnstown; Vocelli's Pizza in the Family Video Plaza, Altoona; KFC, Plank Road Altoona; the Altoona Curve, Everybody's Hometown Team; and Miller Lite, master distributor City Beverage, Altoona.
