Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the June 29 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBXQ 94.3.
With no guests in the studio this week, we took the opportunity to get caught up on some of the local and regional CD’s and recordings that have arrived at “Backyard Rocker” headquarters in recent weeks. We played lots of new tunes, debuting new songs from Steam City Riders, Nate Myers & the Aces, The Delve, Blakkjak, Three Legged Fox, Michaels Road Band, 61 South, Lakeherst, Mark Harvilla, The Shackeltons and Slacker Theory. We also updated Local Music News and featured the collaboration between local musician Jack Servello and members of the 1910 Fruitgum Co., remaking their late 60’s hit “Goody Goody Gumdrops” for an upcoming K-Tel Records compilation. And we reviewed not one, but two CD’s in “The Professor’s CD Corner;” giving you the lowdown on Kun-Tajus’ Chrome Hog Saloon CD during the first hour, and Dubmissive’s self-titled debut CD during the second hour. (The reviews can be read in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the message board area on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com.)
